Investing in Our People and Our Future

By Phil Key, CEO

This year’s Management Development Day (MDD) marked an important milestone for our company—not just because it was our 23rd year hosting the event, but because we introduced a new regional format designed to better support our growing organization. As our organization expands, it’s increasingly important that we equip our leaders with the tools, perspective, and support they need to meet the challenges of leading teams and serve customers at a high level. This updated approach allowed us to bring teams together within their regions, creating a more engaging, relevant, and impactful experience for everyone involved.

One of the most encouraging outcomes from this year’s event was the opportunity for many of our newer and younger team members to step forward as presenters. Seeing emerging leaders share their insights, experiences, and ideas was a powerful reminder of the depth of talent across our organization. Their participation not only strengthened the sessions themselves but also reinforced our commitment to developing the next generation of leaders within the company.

The regional format also made it possible for more team members to participate in the learning. With smaller groups and closer proximity, participants were able to ask more questions, engage in open discussions, and share best practices with one another. This kind of interaction is especially valuable for our front-line field managers, who play a critical role in delivering consistent, high-quality service to our customers every day. By creating more opportunities for collaboration and dialogue, we are helping ensure stronger management skills and greater consistency across our teams.

Another important benefit of the new structure was the ability to strengthen regional connections. Team members had the chance to build relationships with colleagues they may not work with on a daily basis, but who face many of the same challenges and opportunities. These connections help foster collaboration, improve communication, and reinforce the sense that we are all working toward the same goals.

As our company grows, the role of region managers and our regional structure becomes increasingly important. Scaling successfully requires strong leadership at every level, and this format allowed region managers and their teams to truly shine. By tailoring the experience to their regions, they were able to make the event more relevant, practical, and impactful for their teams.

MDD continues to remind us that our greatest investment is in our people. When we create opportunities to learn, connect, and grow together, we strengthen not only our teams but the entire company. I’m incredibly proud of the engagement and enthusiasm shown across all regions this year and look forward to building on this momentum in the years ahead.
