Shady Grove Hospital

Overview

A National Association of Landscape Professionals (NALP) and Landscape Contractors Association (LCA) award-winning project. The Barbara Truland-Butz Healing Garden is part of an ongoing expansion and effort to continue to create outdoor environments that promote healing at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital. By exploring non-traditional open spaces, like the rooftop used for this project, an area that was previously devoid of amenities has been turned into a therapeutic and restorative environment that can be used by patients, visitors and hospital staff.

Project Scope

Site masonry, water features, boulder placement (75 tons), woodworking, pergola, green roof, site amenities, concrete pavers, drainage and waterproofing, debris removal, drainage aggregate and lightweight soil mix installation, 30,000 sustainable plant material, and irrigation.
