Four Promoted to Associate Branch Manager

Laytonsville, MD – Ruppert Landscape is pleased to announce four promotions to the position of associate branch manager within our landscape management division: Drew Dummann in our Raleigh, NC branch; Rob Groves in our Gainesville, VA branch; Tom Flint and Jenna Hicks in our Laytonsville, MD branch.

“The position of associate branch manager is a new position within our company. We are committed to growing from within and believe that this new position will further enable us to invest in training and preparing future branch manager candidates while simultaneously improving the current capabilities of the branch,” said Tom Barry, vice president of the landscape management division.

Dummann has been with the Ruppert organization for over 10 years. He worked in the company’s landscape construction division for the first eight years with the Maryland and Virginia landscape construction branches as a production manager. He been a part of the landscape management division for the past two years, spending time as an enhancement manager in the Frederick branch and, most recently, as an area manager in the Raleigh branch. He holds a bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture from The Ohio State University and resides in Clayton, NC with his wife, Angela Howes, who is branch manager in our North Carolina landscape construction branch, and their son, Finn.

Groves joined the Ruppert organization in 2006 as an enhancement field manager in our Gainesville branch. His prior industry experience and work ethic quickly earned him a promotion to enhancement manager, a position in which excelled for nearly nine years until his promotion to area manager last year. He holds an associate of applied science degree in landscape and nursery operations from The Pennsylvania College of Technology and resides in Culpeper, VA with his wife, Lindsey, and their son, Jacob.

Flint brings over thirty years of experience in the industry, including over four years with the Ruppert organization. He spent his first three years with the company as an area manager in our Alexandria, VA branch. In 2015, he transferred to the Laytonsville branch, where he has helped coach and mentor a young team and continues to produce top enhancement sales. He attended Millersville University of Pennsylvania and currently resides in Derwood, MD with his wife, Justine, and their two children, Lindsey and Thomas. His eldest daughter, Amanda (Flint) Timmins, works in the company’s payroll department.

Hicks joined Ruppert in 2014 as an area manager in our Laytonsville branch. In August of this year, she took home the landscape management division’s award for top performer in enhancement sales. Prior to joining the company, she garnered extensive and varied landscaping experience at organizations including Walt Disney World and McHale Landscape Design. She holds a bachelor’s degree in landscape contracting design/build from Pennsylvania State University and currently resides in Montgomery Village, MD.

As associate branch managers, their responsibilities will continue to involve certain area manager duties but will also focus on progressive training for the branch manager position. As such, they will be responsible for the overall welfare of their branch, including the safety and development of their teams, strategic planning and budgeting, training and day-to-day operations.
