The Myriad Botanical Gardens were the vision of oil and gas pioneer Dean A. McGee (Kerr-McGee Corporation), whose good corporate citizenship and ambitious vision helped to revitalize downtown Oklahoma City. The gardens were opened in March of 1988 and today, the Myriad Botanical Gardens is a 17-acre, nationally recognized garden featuring an architectural treasure, the Crystal Bridge Tropical Conservatory, an amazing 224-foot long circular jungle graced with towering palm trees, exotic planting, crashing waterfalls and abundant animal life.
The renovation of this site was necessary to transform the Gardens into a vibrant new space for people to gather and recreate. The overall project includes a renovation of the Crystal Bridge Conservatory to remove rust and debris and replace over 3,000 acrylic panels; the addition of a new entrance with a visitors' center; and the transformation of the outdoor grounds into a new multi-use recreational space that will include a new restaurant and café, a children's garden, a grand event lawn and multiple water features.
Ruppert Landscape provides commercial landscape construction and management in Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Georgia and North Carolina from 11 branch offices. In addition, the company operates a 475-acre wholesale tree nursery specializing in large tree growing and moving in Montgomery County, MD.
