Ruppert Nurseries Reclaims Ruppert Landscape Name
January 2009
Laytonsville, MD — The commercial landscape construction and landscape management divisions of Ruppert Nurseries’ will be returning to their roots with a name change to Ruppert Landscape, effective February 1, 2009. The tree growing portion of the business will retain the name of Ruppert Nurseries—creating a more clear delineation between the businesses’ service lines.
Ruppert Landscape Company was incorporated in 1976 and expanded over the years to provide a wide range of landscape construction and management services from Philadelphia to Atlanta. In 1998, Ruppert Landscape Company was sold. The tree-growing portion of the business, Ruppert Nurseries, was not part of that sale. Since that time, Ruppert Nurseries continued to grow and also began to provide landscape installation and maintenance services as the non-compete agreement allowed.
"Our return to the Ruppert Landscape name allows us to recapture a significant part of our company’s 30-year history," said Chris Davitt, Ruppert Landscape president. "It also enables us to distinguish between our tree growing business and our commercial landscape business, which are completely different industries. Reclaiming the Ruppert Landscape name enables us to better define those services for our customers."
"The Ruppert values and commitment to its customer service are a constant regardless of whether it has landscape or nursery in the name," said Craig Ruppert, Ruppert Landscape founder and CEO.
Ruppert Landscape provides commercial landscape construction and management in Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Georgia and North Carolina from 11 branch offices. Ruppert Nurseries, operates a 475-acre wholesale tree nursery specializing in large tree growing and moving in Montgomery County, MD.
