Phil Key Returns to Head Ruppert Nurseries’ Landscape Management Operations

Laytonsville, MD — Ruppert Nurseries is pleased to announce the return of Phil Key as Director of Landscape Management Operations. As head of the landscape management division, Key will oversee the five existing landscape management branches and lead the development of new branches. His responsibilities include strategic planning, budgeting, personnel development, quality control and customer relations.

Key began his landscaping career with Ruppert Landscape Company in 1986 as a Field Manager. Over the twenty–one years since then, he was promoted many times, including opening Ruppert’s first Atlanta branch as the maintenance Branch Manager. Ruppert Landscape Company was sold to TruGreen in 1998, Phil assumed the role of District Manager, was promoted several times, and eventually was appointed Division Vice President. In 1999, Key made the decision to join the Ruppert organization and served a year as the Vice President of American Energy Services, a Ruppert Ventures company.

A resident of Miller’s Island, Md., Key holds a bachelors degree in business from Western Maryland College (now McDaniel College) in Westminster, Md.
