Award Recipients Honored

Laytonsville, MD – –Thirteen Ruppert Landscape employees were honored February 26th as the company presented its annual awards at their recent banquet.
"Presenting these awards gives us the opportunity to thank all of our employees for the contributions they make to our company on a daily basis," said President Chris Davitt. "These fourteen individuals have worked extremely hard and have excelled in their respective positions, overcoming challenges with positive outcomes."
Achievement Award
This award, one of the company’s two top honors, recognizes the employee who has made a significant contribution in 2009 through outstanding job execution and high-quality results. Drew Dummann (Production Manager, Maryland Landscape Construction branch) has been with Ruppert for over three years and was recognized for his abilities to take on and excel at challenging projects, his strong leadership skills, his positive attitude, and his continual striving to take on greater responsibility. Dummann resides in Frederick, MD.
Clyde Vadner Merit Award
This award is the company’s top honor and recognizes the individual who has contributed continuous, consistent, long-term hard work, dedication and job skill that has helped to shape the company. Fred Key (Branch Manager, Virginia Landscape Management branch), from Haymarket, VA was recognized for his strong desire to succeed, willingness to take on tough issues at hand and for his branch being the most profitable over the past four years. An eight-year Ruppert employee, Key began his career as a crewman and has served in a variety of capacities including controller, landscape production manager and branch manager.
Impact Award
These awards are given to the employee whose outstanding dedication and contributions have made a positive impact on their individual branch. This year, there were twelve recipients:
- Shannon Berkheimer (Division Administrator), a three-year Ruppert employee from Ashton, MD received the honor for Corporate
- Patty Pescrille (Business Development Manager), a one-year Ruppert employee from Baltimore, MD received the honor for the Frederick Landscape Management branch
- Mark Innis (Production Manager), a nine-year Ruppert employee from Lawrenceville, GA received the honor for the Georgia Landscape Construction branch
- Kristine Pereira (Branch Administrator), a three-year Ruppert employee from Lawrenceville, GA received the honor for the Georgia Landscape Management branch
- Leroy Barton (Project Manager), a twenty-year Ruppert employee from Monrovia, MD received the honor for the Maryland Landscape Construction branch
- Bill Angelis (Landscape Designer), a three-year Ruppert employee from Rockville, MD received the honor for the Maryland Landscape Management branch
- Kevin Kelly (Field Manager), a one-year Ruppert employee from Charlotte, NC received the honor for the North Carolina Landscape Management branch
- Bonita Wakeling (Branch Administrator), a eight-year Ruppert employee from Smyrna, DE received the honor for the Pennsylvania Landscape Management branch
- James Carey (Area Manager), a four-year Ruppert employee from Alexandria, VA received the honor for the Prince George’s Landscape Management branch
- Nick Graves (Nursery Maintenance Manager), a three-year Ruppert employee from Brookeville, MD, received the honor for the Tree-Growing Division
- April Rose (Business Development Manager), a two-year Ruppert employee from Warrenton, VA received the honor for the Virginia Landscape Construction branch
- Roxanne Owens (Branch Administrator), a three-year Ruppert employee from Warrenton, VA received the honor for the Virginia Landscape Management branch
