Award Recipients Honored 2009

Laytonsville, MD — Thirteen Ruppert Landscape employees were honored February 27th as the company presented its annual awards at their recent banquet.
"These awards spotlight exceptional individuals whose superior efforts and skills have benefited our customers and our employees," said President Chris Davitt. "We are truly proud of each of these individuals."
Below are the descriptions and recipients of each award:
Achievement Award
This award, one of the company’s two top honors, recognizes the employee who has made a significant contribution in 2008 through outstanding job execution and high-quality results. Jim Tuzzolino (Operations Manager, Virginia Landscape Construction branch) has been with Ruppert for over 3 years and was recognized for his abilities to take on and excel at challenging projects, his strong leadership skills and his self-sacrificing nature that has enabled the company to create growth opportunities for others. Tuzzolino resides in Deale, MD.
Clyde Vadner Merit Award
This award is the company’s top honor and recognizes the individual who has contributed continuous, consistent, long-term hard work, dedication and job skill that has helped to shape the company. Augustin Cedillos (Foreman, Maryland Landscape Construction branch), from Hyattsville, MD, was recognized for his outstanding approach to delivering projects on budget and under hours. A Ruppert employee for over 13 years, Cedillos has worked his way from crewman to foreman, steadily honing both his craftsmanship and language skills to become an outstanding landscape field manager. His projects are known for coming in under budget and with many customer accolades.
Impact Award
These awards are given to the employee whose outstanding dedication and contributions have made a positive impact on their individual branch. This year, there were eleven recipients:
- Jessica Reed (Accounting Manager), a two-year Ruppert employee from Frederick, MD received the honor for Corporate
- Scott Distasio (Area Manager), a three-year Ruppert employee from Catonsville, MD received the honor for the Frederick Landscape Management branch
- Charles Tankersley (Project Manager), a two-year Ruppert employee from Lawrence, GA received the honor for the Georgia Landscape Construction branch
- Steven Fraser (Business Development Manager), a one-year Ruppert employee from Jefferson, GA received the honor for the Georgia Landscape Management branch
- Angela Howes (Purchaser), a five-year Ruppert employee from Laytonsville, MD received the honor for the Maryland Landscape Construction branch
- Dan Trocher (Area Manager), a two-year Ruppert employee from Ellicott City, MD received the honor for the Maryland Landscape Management branch
- Bill Killen (Area Manager), a three-year Ruppert employee from Atglen, PA received the honor for the Pennsylvania Landscape Management branch
- James Carey (Area Manager), a three-year Ruppert Employee from Alexandria, VA received the honor for the Prince George’s Landscape Management branch
- Luis Santiago (Inventory Manager), a one-year Ruppert employee from Owings Mills, MD, received the honor for the Tree-Growing Division
- Brad Rowland (Business Development Manager), a two-year Ruppert employee from Frederick, MD received the honor for the Virginia Landscape Construction branch
- David Keffer (Area Manager), a two-year Ruppert employee from Manassas, VA received the honor for the Virginia Landscape Management branch
Ruppert Landscape, Inc. provides commercial landscape installation and landscape management services in the mid-Atlantic and grows trees for wholesale on a 475-acre nursery in Montgomery County, MD.
